What's New in 2023

Statman 2023 includes the following upgrades:
  • Spotter box: new feature on the Game Summary worksheet to display a recap of the most recent play (ball carrier or passer/receiver, along with tackler and other defense information).
  • Added a new penalty option -- penp -- to use on a penalty when the play counts (e.g., offensive holding downfield). Refer to the instruction manual for more information on using this code.
  • Major upgrades to the single game version, streamlining the approach.
    • Both teams' rosters and colors are loaded within the game file, thus eliminating the need for a configuration file.
    • Moved to a Home/Away format instead of the Our Team/Their Team.
    • Added an option to upload stats to MaxPreps for either or both teams.
  • Expanded the HUDL data file to support 23 more data fields.
  • Cleaned up some bugs on the game files, season stats file, and season record book. Reduced the size of the game files.
As usual, Statman Football contains a schedule/results procedure, multiple report printing, efficient stats output, season stats capability, tons of offensive stats options, detailed special teams stats, an optional defensive stats section, complete play-by-play (with drive summaries), a scoring summary, drive charts, and much more!  You can choose between 3 versions . . . the season stats version, the single game (media) version, or the 80-yard season stats version. We also have an optional service plan.

These updates over the years will continue to allow users to achieve maximum output with minimum input. The premise of Statman has remained the same since its inception in 2001 ... entering basic play-by-play information into an Excel spreadsheet to achieve detailed statistics in report or html form.

I will also update the Statman Facebook page when the new release is available.
